Blessed with the musical, drawing and writing gifts of her parents, Yejide performed at Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall as a youth. While Yejide performed internationally, she participated in community and activist works, managed her performance and production company, We Manifest, acquired her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from John Jay College and continually provides a loving supportive and edu-cultural environment for her daughter, Tajh and son, koyami. International love was given at Club Citta, Club R. Japan and Theater Barb in Bordeaux, France. Yejide has graced stages with the Pam Africa the Roots, Rha Goddess, dead prex Medusa,Mos Def, Jessica Care Moore and Abiodun (the Last Poets), to name a few. Yejide (pronounced Yeh-jih-day) is West Nigerian name from the Yoruba, loosely meaning "in the image of her mother'. She states, "My name signifies homage to all Mothers, the beauty of African cultures and my contribution of Yin energies to a world in need of universal balance and healing.'
